Manufacture
We are proud to invest in the quality and heritage of Scottish manufacturing and work with a small, well established family-run factory in the Scottish Borders to produce our accessories. Asides from the pieces knitted by Hilary herself in Orkney, each product is knitted, linked and hand-finished with the greatest care by their skilled team. All our knitwear is finished to a very specific standard, so that the lustre and qualities of the lambswool are enhanced to achieve the most durable and luxurious handle.
YARNS
All of the products are made from a soft springy lambwool spun in the North of England by a company who have been in business for over 200 years. The fibres used to make the yarn come from the Geelong area of Australia, which is renowned for producing the finest, most elastic, high quality lambswool in the world.
KNITWEAR CARE
All of our knitwear has been made to the highest standard using one of the finest lambswool.
It is important to look after your knitwear to ensure it lasts a long time.
- You can hand wash your scarf, hat or mittens by hand, using cold water and a specialist wool detergent. your knitwear should never be washed in the machine, as the movement in the machine will cause agitation and cause the knitwear to shrink.
- Press gently with a towel, to soak up excess water.
- Lay flat on a towel to dry and keep away from direct sources of heat.
- When your knitwear is dry press with an iron on low heat.
It is important when storing knitwear to ensure it is clean before putting into storage to detract moths. Cedar balls can also detract moths and it is also helpful to clean and dust your wardrobe on a regular basis.
